For three decades, the Aachen-based company has been working for BMW, MINI and LAND ROVER fans, offering them cutting-edge motorsport technology and in many cases offering new ways to develop BMW. In 1987, Willy Kohl and Herbert Schnitzer founded the automotive company AC Schnitzer Technik on Neuenhofstrasse in Aachen. That same year, the IAA Frankfurt saw the first world premiere of AC Schnitzer's product range for the 7 Series E32. This gives rise to dynamic driving pleasure products that can be used in everyday life. Innovations follow one after another - in 1989 the AC Schnitzer ACS3 Sport was released based on the BMW M3 E30, again in Frankfurt in 1993 the legendary AC Schnitzer CLS - Coupé Lightweight Silhouette (based on the BMW M3 E36) appeared. In 1997, AC Schnitzer reached the next milestone in its development - on its tenth anniversary - it showed something deadly - the BMW Z3 with a V8 engine. In 2003, another premiere took place - three years before the launch of the BMW Z4 Coupé, AC Schnitzer introduced the TOPSTER, the first version of the Z4 coupe. In 2005, the AC Schnitzer TENSION appeared based on the BMW M6 E63, which premiered in Frankfurt, and a few weeks later the world speed record in its class was set at 331.78 km / h. This meant that at that time the BMW was the fastest BMW car for driving on the roads. In 2006 and 2007 the company focused on AC Schnitzer PROFILE based on the BMW M Coupé E86 and AC Schnitzer GP3.10 GAS POWERED based on the BMW 335i Coupé. Shortly thereafter, the latter set another world record for LPG vehicles at the track in Nardo with 318.1 km/h. At the 2009 Essen Motor Show, AC Schnitzer presented its first TUNE IT! SAFELY! Police campaign based on the BMW 123d. Since then, every year it has presented a special concept car that meets the most desired wishes of tuning enthusiasts, as well as the requirements of maximum safety. With four consistent concepts, AC Schnitzer has proven in practice that safety during setup is one of the company's main goals. In 2012, AC Schnitzer already had representatives in 50 countries around the world. Another milestone in the company's history was reached in 2015 with its own interpretation based on the BMW i8. In 2016, the ACL2 concept was shown, based on the BMW M235i, with significantly reduced weight and incredible power. For its 30th anniversary, the tuning companies have released a special edition limited to 30 tuning kits for all areas of the BMW M240i coupe and convertible. The package labeled "ACL2S" demonstrates once again that anything is possible in transmission beyond the standard. 30 years of uncompromising innovation couldn't go unnoticed - AC Schnitzer was named "Best BMW Tuner" by the readers of "auto motor und sport" and for many years they voted AC Schnitzer as "Tuning Master" in the category "Best Engine Tuner" & "Best Style Tuner". |
